San Pedro Valley Hike
February 16, 2003

Only two of us braved the wet/muddy day for the hike at San Pedro. Happily it wasn't that muddy and not too wet either. We got rained on as we climbed up the Montaro trail. We also had one huge puddle to wade through as we hiked on the McNee Ranch fire road. It was shallow enough that it didn't come over our boot tops though! When we stopped for lunch the sun came out and we had great views of the Pacific ocean and Montara beach. The wind stayed away so it was easy to stay warm. Everything was very green and lush on the hike because of all the recent rain. It was beautiful. We saw Brooks Falls with water in it!

I did make some gross mis-estimations and the hike I thought was going to be 3 to 5 miles long was more like 8 miles long so the two of us cut it short and skipped descending to Montara Beach. We probably hiked about 6 miles in all. Its too bad the weather scared away the majority of the participants but the 2 of us had a grand time.
